20 weeks until the VLM 2015 - Training begins!

20 weeks today until I take on the Virgin London Marathon in aid of Hospice UK. Training starts in earnest this coming week with a scheduled 26 miles of running for the week, including an 8 mile long run on Sunday.

It is also just 24 days until my 2015 miles in 2015 running challenge begins so I'm keen to get my legs and my body used to running 35-40 miles per week as this is what will be required throughout the year to achieve my goal.

£110 towards my £2015 target already raised, please support me if you can and thanks to those who have already given so generously.

10K Steady run - Back still recovering

Thought I would try a slightly longer run today to see if the back would give me any problems. I'm pleased to say that it was absolutely fine, with no pain at all. My legs were a little 'surprised' by the distance but is something they will have to get used to!

2015 miles in 2015 Facebook group

I've just created this group as others have shown an interest in my 2015 challenge. Although I will be aiming to run the 2015 miles, any combination of running, cycling and swimming goes - just no driving or flying!
It's set as a public group so feel free to add yourself if you fancy it, just click on the picture below.

5K Steady Run - First run 'back'!

After being off work for almost 2 weeks with a back injury I was really pleased to get round a steady 5K tonight. I took it very steady and felt good the whole way round.

Hoping for a longer run at the weekend.

Just 20 weeks this Sunday until the VLM 2015.
